Fifteen Jump kicks British Military Martial Arts’s New Website

December 4, 2017

Guess what, we’ve had another launch! Starting this December off with a bang. We are proud to shout out about the new Lee Matthews British Military Martial Arts website. It launched on the 1st December 2017.

About British Military Martial Arts

British Military Martial Arts (BMMA) is a one of a kind organization. As they are the only one in the UK to have both ex-military and civilian instructors teaching military themed martial arts.

The organisation was founded in 2001 by Lee Matthews. He spent 7 years serving in the Third Battalion of the Parachute Regiment. After which, he wanted to teach martial arts with a difference.

All BMMA instructors are inspirational, motivational and always get the best out of the pupils in every class. The classes consist of many martial art styles including Karate, Kung-Fu, Ju-jitsu and Kickboxing. All are catered to all ages and levels.

Today, BMMA has over 80 locations across the country. It has new schools opening each year. With aims to become the biggest and best martial arts school in the country.

The Task

The brief for this project is to deliver a website that allows Lee Matthews British Military Martial Arts to take the next step into the world wide web.

The website needed to be designed to reflect the BMMA’s passion, enthusiasm and professionalism. This alongside teaching children and adults martial arts with military precision. Also, with a keen eye for detail and ensuring that the website follows the continuity from the classroom to the online presence that the BMMA have.

The site needed to be developed into a scalable and responsive website. That integrates seamlessly with the API for BMMA’s CRM system. Allowing parents and adults to book courses via the website.

  • Raise awareness of BMMA online
  • Attract new pupils
  • Attract new staff and new franchise owners
  • Provide all necessary information for stakeholders, and showcase this in an interactive way that will meet requirements
  • Reflect the BMMA look and feel and the empowering nature of the company
  • Have a website that is visual and has the WOW factor
  • Support BMMA’s overall marketing objectives and inbound strategy
  • Encourage visitors to book online via the Nest API increasing the conversion rate
  • Highlight key messages quickly and effectively resulting in a positive engagement
  • Build a professional, modern website that is responsive and easy to use.
  • An easy navigation and a clear user journey
  • Build the website in a CMS which will allow the admin access to amend content and images
  • The Website

With the visuals, we needed to create something that would allow BMMA to stand out. We created a strong visual style across the website. Making sure that all photos where possible used across the site had the same treatment applied to them. With large chunky text across the headers and call to actions.

We focused on a clean and concise user journey. Making sure that users were guided through the website to each key stage of the buying process. Ensuring that appropriate images were used throughout the site to convey the energetic and fun nature of the classes.

The website’s CMS is built in Drupal and integrates with the API for their CRM system. Using the API to pull through all the class locations, instructors and allow for parents/students to book their free trial through the site.
