About Lion Haircare
Lion Haircare LTD is a global operator with 130 years of history. Their clients vary from sole traders to US Fortune 500.
Their product range includes hairnets, beard snoods, disposable protective wear and products for personal use.
Their goal is to make sure that every person who works in a food industry maintains a high degree of personal cleanliness and wears suitable, clean and protective clothing.
The Brief
Lion Haircare approached Fifteen to design and build a website using our best UX design and development practices and techniques.
The client asked for a fully-responsible website which would be easy to manage in the Content Management System (CMS). They wanted their new website to be straightforward to streamline the funnel and make it easy for the user to easily navigate the sites.
Challenges
Our creative team completed a UX audit and recommended where the Lion Haircare could improve. We recommended:
- User experience / Website structure
The user journey was one of the main issues we needed to improve. First of all, the product archive page had a lot of child pages which were linking to various categories. It was really difficult to navigate within these categories or to find a particular product.
Moreover, all the pages were displayed in a header. We used our best UX practices to find a balance between header and footer to locate the pages logically.
- Call to action
A call to action is an important part of any website. The old website of Lion Haircare didn’t have any visible CTA’s on any page apart from the section in the top-level menu.
- Responsive on mobile
The majority of online users have moved to smart devices like tablets and mobile phones. We suggested developing a mobile-responsive site to make Lion Haircare easier to navigate for mobile users.
What We Did
Website
Our design team used the latest design trends and created a striking, user-friendly design. We also introduced some animation and hover effects on the Homepage to outline the key areas of focus. We put all of these changeovers over a new, straightforward structure which simplifies navigation and drives users to core pages and contact forms.
Our Development team did a great job building the website from scratch. They made sure that all the website elements were flexible so the client would have the ability to create unique and personalised pages.
Along with this, we used some interesting design ideas to make sure the user has the best experience no matter which browser or device they are using. The website has been built in a way that it can easily be switched to an e-commerce website.
