Sophie Kish – Digital Producer
About you
After graduating with a 1st class BA hons in Performance & Media, I gradually moved into marketing roles within various sectors, as this allowed me to put some of my degree into use with running social media, writing website content, designing a number of different promotional materials, creating videos and photography.
Over the years I’ve continued to master the skills that I took from my degree, moving forward with Marketing and moving into Account Management and Production roles. I’ve worked for another digital agency within Nottingham, where I was exposed to a range of clients and sectors, then moved to Fifteen for the opportunity to grow with the company, expand my skills and learn new things.
About your role
Being a Digital Producer at Fifteen, my role is many things. I manage the digital and development team, taking charge with digital projects from initial scheduling, design and meetings through to training and final go-live. This requires working collaboratively with each department, to ensure that the project and workflow runs smoothly, and is effective for all those involved.
My role requires background knowledge in all aspects, from design to development, in order to understand the client requests and relay them back to the necessary team members in order for the job to be done correctly.
It also involves looking after clients after the project has launched, checking in with them at intervals and ensuring that the website is functioning at all times for their business and needs. Many of my clients will say that I’m never far away with either an email or a phone call, and will always go out my way to help them solve their problem.
What is your favourite project that you’ve worked on?
Its really hard to pick a website that is my favourite, but it comes down to the last few that I’ve worked on with the Fifteen team, which would be Orphans in Need, Imran Khan Cancer Appeal and Have Dog Can Travel.
All websites had their own challenges with OiN and IKCA having a lot of functionality to understand, very creative ideas from the design team to help improve user journey and engagement on the website, a lot of content and a sector I previously hadn’t worked in. Then to train the client on how to use the system fully and know that they understand how to make amends when needed. After seeing the results from Ramadan this year, I’m proud to say that Fifteen did an amazing job.
Have Dog Can Travel is another favourite but for a completely different reason, as a start up business, the project was fun from the start, and growing the brand and website with the Fifteen team and client has been great. It’s also amazing to see how well Have Dog are doing on their socials and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow more over the years.
What have you learnt at Fifteen?
My time at Fifteen has been great so far, and I have learnt a lot more from new systems and processes than in my previous role, and I know that over the coming months/years I will learn a lot more. I’m lucky enough to learn something new every day whether it’s a new web trend, a new development trick or something new about a clients business.
What is rewarding about working at Fifteen?
The opportunity to grow with the business and help our clients grow their businesses as well… I get to exercise my creative ideas with clients as well as understand the technical requirements of each job that comes through the department. Every day is different and provides new challenges and tasks to undertake, so no day is the same, which is great!
