Michelle
Lead Designer
About you
I’ve always wanted to have a career in art and design; it’s something that I’ve been interested in from as long as I can remember. I became a graphic designer after studying art and design at school and it was something I was actually good at! I graduated from University in 2007 and have since gone on to work in several design roles including in-house marketing and design studio positions. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me participating in Bokwa and Zumba classes or a running club. I really enjoy sports and keeping active is a big part of my life. I’m also avid football fan with a Derby County season ticket that takes up most of my weekends!
About your role
As a Lead Designer I work together with the team to create successful design solutions on projects from brand concepts through to digital media. The role is very varied. I work with clients from a wide collection of industries on projects including branding, design for print and online media. It’s a very busy studio so there is a lot of pressure to manage jobs and deliver results on time. No day is ever the same; you never know what’s going to be in your inbox in the morning.
What is your favourite project that you have worked worked on?
I really enjoyed working on the Boots ‘All Aboard’ project, an internal marketing campaign to communicate the arrival of a new intranet system and to encourage Boots staff to get excited about the launch. The entire Fifteen team was involved in the project from initial ideas, to delivering the strategy plan and all of the design elements. It was a fun project that gave us the opportunity to push our creativity and create something unique – a brief like that doesn’t appear very often in the commercial design world.
What have you learnt at Fifteen?
Working at Fifteen has given me to opportunity to create work for new industries, further refine my design skills and has also given me an opportunity to experience an increased customer facing role within the business.
What is rewarding about working for Fifteen?
Working together with a like-minded and driven team to deliver successful solutions to challenging briefs that go above and beyond client expectations.
